After teaching for a few years I became a wife and a stay at home mom. Between laundry, cooking, and carpooling, I paint. Creating helps me to pause and breathe in the joy that is already there. Art brings my awareness to the slivers of awe that permeate my days. When I create I put on my “artist eyes” and see the world in a new and beautiful way. I learn to witness the beauty and wonder that is already there. The ordinary becomes extra-ordinary. Sometimes life is about finding the secret pockets of joy hidden in ordinary life.
I discovered my love of art as a child and it has always been a part of me. I studied art in college, received a BS and MS in Art Education, and planned to become an art teacher. I knew I wanted to share the world of art with others. Now I share art by teaching children’s art classes, painting parties and creating many paintings, both for general sale as well as on commission.
